How to fix Apple Music not working issue on iPhone and iPad

The music department is one of the strengths of the iPhone/iPad, and the music app is not working is a major problem for the device owners. Almost all readers love to listen to music on the Apple device via an in-house music app because it offers songs from iTunes. You can access seventy million tracks from the online library and save them to the local storage. Apple encouraged listeners to download tracks from iTunes as they offer high-quality output that you won’t find in the competition.

Solved: Why does my Apple music not working properly on iPhone and iPad?

The music app developed by Apple’s official in-house team, and it is rare to have non-working functions in the app. There could be a lot of reasons behind it but we are going to look at official solutions that will help in resolving the issue.

Re-install Music App

It is no longer a dream, where you can uninstall internal apps from the device. You have to keep in mind that you may lose data, so create a backup via iTunes because that’s the fastest way to backup & restore at the same time. Remove the music app from the device using the traditional method, and no need to worry about the “this app requires iOS 14” error because the App Store will install the previous version. Solve software-related problems by uninstalling the app from the store.

Network Error

Millions of Apple music lovers are using streaming services, and that requires an active internet connection. Almost, all iPhones/iPad have modern connectivity options like GPRS, Edge, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth technology. We have found that millions of music lovers depend on 4G or cellular connection for internet connectivity. Disable cellular internet and try Wi-Fi for error confirmation, and then you can make a decision.

Many device owners have reported that the carrier internet connection has interrupted Apple Music several times. Of course, if you are using Wi-Fi, then try cellular internet like 4G or the latest 5G network to resolve the Apple music app issue.

Storage Space

iPhone/iPad needs enough storage space to function normally, and you cannot run out of space in the device. Unfortunately, you cannot expand the storage in the iPhone or iPad due to Apple restrictions, but you have to maintain a respectable amount of storage.

Device owners have to maintain a minimum of 2GB of internal storage for smooth performance. Apple has optimized the operating system, but it is not bulletproof and has flaws as well. Of course, it would take a long time to fix the flaws because they are introducing new features in upcoming updates.

Show All Purchases

Millions of Apple device owners purchase music from iTunes, and you can synchronize the music to the device via Apple ID. However, you have to turn on the feature in the settings because it could have been disabled by mistake.

  • Tap on “Settings” to start the process.
  • Swipe down until the Music app shows up on the screen, and you have to tap on it to access the functions.
  • Tap on “Show All Purchases” to enable it.
  • Make sure your device is connected to the internet, and it will download the music to the local storage.

You don’t have to restart the device because this process doesn’t need a reboot but make sure your device is connected to the internet.

Turn On/Off iCloud Music Library

Long time iPhone/iPad know about the iCloud synchronizing issues, and you can fix it by enabling & disabling the function.

Wait for another minute and then restart the device but make sure that it is connected to the internet. Your device will synchronize with the iCloud servers & updates Apple ID, and it will add the missing content in the Music app.

Bottom Line

Follow the solutions to solve Apple Music is not working on iPhone & iPad without using additional tools and third-party solutions. Readers don’t have to spend time on other products to solve the error. We recommend the readers to update the iOS version for a stable environment.

  1. Apple knows that Apple Music on a PC does not work and has not worked since Feb 2021. They really do not care, say it’s a known isssue and customers will just have to wait as it is not a priority. I have spoken several times with them. They state it is a know issue but not a priority. They want you to pay and sign up for Apple Music. I have been a customers for over 10 years and have a massive library which I cannot access. Apple does not care. Check it out!!!
