Samsung announced three ultra-thin laptops under the Galaxy Book Flex brand with a QLED display. Samsung manufacturer’s vibrant mobile display for Apple, and that’s how powerful they are in this department. On the top of it, Samsung coupled with Intel 10th generation Core i-series processors. I have to point out that the pricing of the ultra-thin laptop starts from $849.99 and runs on the Windows 10 desktop operating system.
We have three ultra-thin laptops and let’s start from base variant to high-end variant. We will go through specifications and provide enough information for you to make the final decision.
Galaxy Book Flex (NP930QCG-K01)
The base variant sports 8GB LPDDR4x RAM powered by 13.3-inches Full HD QLED Display with the resolution of 1920 x 1080p. You got S Pen Air Action to control the laptop from distance for presentations and work on the art class because the display supports Touch Screen Panel.
The QLED Display is VDE-certified and has a maximum of 600-nit brightness. Most of the professional designers rely on color accuracy and in-depth designing, and you won’t have a single problem while working outside.
Since the NP930QCG-K01 model is the base variant, you are buying the laptop with Core i5-1035G4 clocked at 1.1GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz. The 10th generation Intel processor sports Iris Plus Graphics, which is an integrated graphics processor. In short, Samsung did not pair the processor with dedicated GPU and I’m not blaming the company whatsoever.
If you are a professional designer or video editor, then the Samsung NP930QCG-K01 model equipped with 512 GB (NVMe) SSD for faster response time and read/write speeds. Currently, the Samsung EVO SSD series is the most popular choice in the desktop market. You cannot add one more HDD or SSD drive as it has one slot only.
I have mentioned other important features at the end of the news because Samsung equipped all editions with important features regardless of the price difference.
Weight: 1.16KG.
Price: $849.99.
Galaxy Book Flex (NP930QCG-K02)
Now that I have covered base variant, you are already aware of Samsung’s ultra-thin laptop offer processor upgrade, which is Core i7-1065G7 that is clocked at 1.3GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz. The processor is gifted with integrated Iris Plus Graphics, which is similar to the base variant. The Core i7 model offers 16 GB on-board (LPDDR4x) RAM and I think it is enough for Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and most of the intensive tasked applications.
Samsung paired the model with a 13.3-inch Full HD Display. It is a QLED screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080p. I have to point out that the display is a Touch Screen Panel that supports S Pen Air Action for art and hand designing.
The QLED Display is VDE-certified and has 100% color accuracy for modern designers. You can work outside of the house or office and still have visible display because the brightness can go up to 600-nits. Overall, Samsung added a vibrant display on all three variants, which is a good add-on.
The second high-end variant offers 512GB (NVMe) SSD that has one slot only, and you cannot add one more HDD or SDD drive. If you are planning to upgrade the storage, then you have to replace the 512GB SSD and replace it with a higher memory drive.
Price: $1,199.99.
Galaxy Book Flex (NP950QCG-X01)
The X01 model is the high-end variant that is powered by Core i7-1065G7 Processor and backed by 16GB on-board (LPDDR4x) RAM. The Core i7 processor is clocked at 1.3GHz and Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz. The Core i7 model can handle CPU and GPU intensive tasks including graphics designing, 4k video editing, and more.
However, Samsung added a dedicated graphics card, which is 2GB Nvidia MX250 Graphics (GDDR5) Graphics card. The dedicated mobile graphics card cannot be compared to the GTX-series and RTX-series cards because they are way superior. But, you can do light gaming in low settings, and perform GPU-intensive tasks like 4k video editing.
The X01 is special in many ways, and one of those is the display. Samsung equipped 15.6-inches QLED Display with the resolution of 1920 x 1080p. I do want to mention that the display can reach a maximum of 600-nit brightness and S Pen Air Action support. Similar to the other models, the QLED display supports Touch Screen Panel and is VDE-certified that has 100% color accuracy.
Coming to the storage, instead of 512GB SSD (NVMe), you got 1TB (NVMe) SSD storage in X01. Meanwhile, it still has one slot, and you have to replace the entire drive to upgrade.
Price: $1,349.99.
Important Features
The number of features that I mention here apply to all three models offered by Samsung.
Wi-Fi Connectivity: Setup the game with the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology, which is faster and superior to the previous generations.
Bluetooth Connectivity: Samsung added Bluetooth Version 5, which is much faster and covers more areas.
Ports: You got 2 Thunderbolt, one USB-C, and UFS & MicroSD Combo.
Audio Input and Output: Single jack Headphone out/Mic-in Combo.
Speakers: Samsung owns AKG, and they added 2 Stereo Speakers with 5W output.
Camera: One front 720p HD Camera.
Color options: Royal Blue only.
Security Features: TPM and dedicated fingerprint Reader on the keyboard.
Battery Backup: 20 hours (Samsung claims.)
Samsung did manage to impress a professional gaming content creator and writer like me. However, this is not a review whatsoever because we don’t know about the PROS and CONS yet. I do ask the readers, who want to make a one-time investment to wait for in-depth reviews because nothing is perfect in the world. According to the specification, Samsung Galaxy Book Flex indeed shines brighter in the ultra-thin laptop market.
you put prices, but are there links for those prices? i cant find them at those price points.
thanks.
