It can be frustrating when your iPhone is connected to the Wifi, but there is no internet. The issue can appear because of a wide range of reasons. Maybe, your Wifi connection is offline, maybe the wifi connection got glitched, and so on. However, in this article, I will be sharing a bunch of helpful methods to help you fix iPhone connected to Wifi but no internet issues.

The below methods would work fine no matter which iOS version you are running or what iPhone you are using.

Turn off the Wifi connection and turn it on

Let’s start with the basic troubleshooting methods. In most cases, simply turning off and turning it back fixes the issue. So before you get into any complicated methods, I would recommend you to turn off your Wifi and wait for a few seconds and then turn your Wifi on again and see if it works.

  • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Toggle off the connection
  • Tap to turn it again.

Enable/Disable Airplane Mode

You can also enable and disable airplane mode on your iPhone to fix any wifi-related issues. This helps in refreshing the connection sort of and works in most cases.

To do so, you have to pull down the control center menu by swiping it down on your iPhone. Then tap on the Airplane icon to enable airplane mode. This will instantly turn off your wifi connection.

Now wait for about 30 seconds or so and then tap on the Airplane icon again to disable airplane mode. Then tap on wifi to enable it and see if your internet is working.

Ensure your Wifi network is working properly

In case if the above two methods didn’t work for you, then there could be a chance that your WiFi connection is down only.

To check that, you can try connecting some other device to the WiFi and see if you are being able to access the internet or not. Or you can simply visit your ISP’s login page and see if it’s accessible.

In case your internet is down, then you can wait for a few hours for your WiFi to come back. Or you can call your internet service provider and ask what’s wrong.

Restart Your iOS device and WiFi Router

If your internet is working, then you can restart your WiFi router and your iPhone. To restart your iPhone, you have to press the power button and up volume key button for a few seconds. Then use the slide to power off the option to shut down your iPhone. Once turned off, wait for a few seconds and turn your iPhone on.

To restart your WiFi router, simply plug it off from its power source for about one minute. After that, plug in the router again, and you are all done.

Turn Off WiFi Assist from your iPhone

The next thing that you can do is turn off the Wifi assist. This feature uses cellular data when the wifi connection is poor. However, in some cases, it might interfere with the functioning of Wifi. So you can consider disabling the feature.

To do so, follow the below steps:

  • Go to Settings > Mobile Data.
  • Scroll down to the bottom and disable Wi-Fi Assist feature.

Disable VPN if it’s activated on your Apple Device

Are you using a VPN connection? If yes, then it could also interfere with your wifi connection resulting in the iPhone connected to wifi but no internet issue.

So, I would recommend you to turn off VPN and see if it works. To disable VPN, simply open the VPN app and turn it off.

Reset All Network Settings

Lastly, if nothing works out for you, then you can reset all network settings. To do so, you have to follow the below steps.

  • Go to Settings > General.
  • Tap on Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset.
  • Select Reset Network Settings and enter your iPhone passcode to confirm your action.

Once everything is reset, simply reboot your iPhone and try to connect to a WiFi network, and see if it worked for you.

Final Words

So those were all the fixes for iPhone connected to wifi but no internet issue. Now go ahead and try these methods out and see if they did help you to get rid of the error.
