Microsoft wants a piece of the chunk in the premium wireless earbuds market created by Apple a few years back when they removed 3.5mm headphone jack. The controversial move by Apple was criticized by competition including Google in their Pixel phone commercial and Google followed it later on. Recently Microsoft launched Surface Earbuds under the premium category for modern consumers, who are using multiple devices.

What’s new in Surface Earbuds?

Nothing.

However, if you are Microsoft product users such as me, then this is a must-have product. Surface Earbuds supports Windows 10, Android 4.4, iPhone 5, or any device that supports Bluetooth 4.1/4.2 technology. I am more excited than I can connect my Surface Earbuds to my Windows laptop without hassle or limitations.

The Microsoft added compatibility for voice dictation and is capable enough to translate more than 60 languages. You can use Surface Earbuds with Microsoft office products.

The wireless earphones are touch-controlled and haptic swipe gesture products that navigate many functions with one-touch such as play/pause, stop, and more. Microsoft used Unisonic speakers for active noise cancellation and superior sound quality. The earphones have dual-microphone for answering the calls and to use voice command.

It can be charged using USB-C cable with 24 hours of playback. The Surface Earbuds can play for one hour with 10 minutes of charge. It supports modern features that are common nowadays, but you are not missing any of those features.

Microsoft bundles charging case, which has an inbuilt battery that designed to power up the drained earbuds. The brand claims that it can charge up to 16 hours of worth playback time. As I have mentioned before, MS followed Apple’s footsteps and created a similar design around the charging case, so it will look familiar to it and functions the same.

I’m happy that Microsoft is shipping the product with the 1-meter cable that is USB-A to USB-C cable. You can charge the case using PC, laptop, power bank, regular charging brick, and others.
